Dr. Philip Anthony Snow

Dr. Philip Anthony Snow, 74, of Henderson, Maryland, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, at Compass Regional Hospice. Born on July 19, 1951, in Baltimore, Maryland, Philip was the son of the late Charles and Margaret Snow. He was a proud graduate of North Caroline High School, where his curiosity and discipline set the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of learning. Following high school, Philip was recruited into the Intelligence Service Community and selected for the Phoenix Program, where he specialized in training and instruction. Philip was deeply committed to education. Over the course of his life, he earned multiple academic degrees, culminating in a Doctorate in Soil Science from the University of Maryland. His passion for science extended far beyond formal education; he was endlessly fascinated by how the world worked, how chemicals mixed, how systems interacted, and the sense of wonder that emerged when everything came together. Science was not just his profession, but his greatest passion. Outside of his academic and professional life, Philip found joy in the outdoors and in working the land. He especially enjoyed surf fishing, hunting, and farming, and took great pleasure in tending the land, which remained one of his favorite pastimes. He was an avid attendee of farm auctions, where he delighted in history, tools, and stories tied to agricultural life. Phillip also cherished time spent eating crabs with friends, sharing conversation, laughter, and lasting memories. In addition to his parents, Philip was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Lindlof, and his brother, Martin Snow. Philip is survived by his lifelong partner, Brenda Zevgolis of Virginia; his nephew, James Lindlof (Susan); his niece, Kristen Cardozo (Carlos). He also leaves behind many great-nieces and great-nephews who will carry forward his memory and legacy. A visitation will be held on January 10, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home in Greensboro, Maryland, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service and burial will take place at Parkwood Cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland, on January 10, 2026, at 2 p.m.
