Debra Jane Morrow

Debra Jane Morrow, better known as “Debbie,” of Denton, MD, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Easton Memorial Hospital. She was 69 years old. Debbie was born on December 5, 1956, in Baltimore, MD, and was the daughter of the late Roy Reginald Powell and Betty Mae “Swartz” Powell. Debbie graduated from Easton High School and later went on to work in private health care while devotedly taking care of her son, whom she adored with all her heart. Debbie also worked at The Pines in Easton, Maryland, for a few years. She married the love of her life, Joseph A. Morrow, on April 14, 2025. In her younger years, she was very active in 4-H. Debbie enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, traveling, playing the slots at the casino, and vacationing with her family and friends. Above all, she cherished her role as a mother and shared a deep, loving bond with her son, Justice. She also collected wind chimes and loved anything to do with butterflies, flowers, and rabbits. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one stepson, Joseph Andre Morrow Jr., and one cousin, Susan Ott. She is survived by her husband, Joseph A. Morrow of Denton, MD; three stepdaughters, Tameca, Aleshia, and Andrea; four stepsons, Michael, Brian, Tony, Averi; and her beloved biological son, Justice. She is also survived by her sister, Teresa Walker of Denton, MD; eight cousins, Pat Gomez of FL, Shelly Blades of Easton, MD, Carla Callahan of Cordova, MD, Brenda Butler of Cordova, MD, Tommy Blades of Easton, MD, Susan Cassada of VA, Nancy Ross of VA, and Bonnie Childress of VA; two aunts, Agnes Blades of Easton, MD, and Izetta Moore of VA; friends, Edie Lewis, Debbie Nixon, Debbie Ball, Janet Gibson, Mrs. Adams, Cornez Collins, and Bobbie Gibson; one godson, Laine Gibson; and one goddaughter, Jenn Hughes. A visitation will be held Friday, January 23, 2026, from 8 AM to 9 AM at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home 106 W. Sunset Ave Greensboro, MD 21639. Services will be held at 9AM also at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery.
