Barbara Marie Christopher

Barbara Marie Christopher, 77, of Greensboro, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 3, 1948, in Easton, Maryland, Barbara was raised by her mother, Emma Knox Wooters and stepfather Carrol D. Wooters along with her father Alfred G. Harris Sr. She married the love of her life, Ronald L. Christopher Sr., on September 9, 1966. Following her graduation with the Class of 1967 from Colonel Richardson High School, Barbara began her career holding supervisory roles at several places, including a garment factory in Greensboro, IMS in Ridgely, newspaper delivery services, and both KCL Deli and Greensboro Deli. She later joined Foam Works, where she enjoyed the flexibility of creating her own schedule, and ultimately retired from there in 2020. Barbara was a dedicated and proud member of both the Goldsboro Fire Company (Life Member) and Greensboro Fire Company Auxiliary since 1989, generously offering her time and service to the community she loved. Within the companies she was a firefighter and EMT as well as holding the position of EMS Captain and Board of Director. She also volunteered as a Cub Scout Leader in Preston, MD and other organizations when the children were younger. Barbara enjoyed spending time with family, her pets, working with her flowers and doing diamond dot art. Her warmth, strength, and dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Christopher Sr., and her son, Robert Christopher. She leaves behind a lasting legacy in her children: daughter, Dawn Parks (Kevin) of Greensboro; her sons, Ronald "Speedy" Christopher (Michelle) of Ridgely, and Nelson Christopher of Greensboro. Barbara was also a proud grandmother to 7 grandchildren; Kevin Jr., Amanda, Brandon, Ronald (Lil Speedy), Connor, Jessica, Julie, and great-grandmother to 6 great-grandchildren; Aubrey, Emma, Olivia, McKinley, Westlyn, and Saylor. She is also survived by her loving sister, Marian Miller (Tom) of Denton, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on September 26, 2025, from 12-1 pm at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, followed by a service at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Greensboro Cemetery.
