Sheila Ann Wright Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sheila Ann Wright of Greensboro passed away on May 21st, 2022. She was 67 years old. Born on November 20, 1954, in Easton, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Robert Edward Wright and Carrie Mae Lovett Wright. Sheila grew up in Greensboro and graduated from North Caroline High School with the class of 1972. Sheila was the Dallas Cowboy’s number one fan. She was an avid athlete playing and competing in many sports starting from a young age and later in life. She also enjoyed playing cards and board games. Most of all Sheila loved being surrounded by family and friends. Sheila was a passionate caregiver and most happy helping others. She was a Medical Office Assistant at the Washington Hospital Center (Washington, DC) in the Main Operation Room for 18 years. Many days Sheila would finish her shift in the Main OR and work another shift as a hospital sitter providing patients in need of supervision with companionship and care. After leaving the Washington Hospital Center, Sheila was an Administrative Coordinator at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Northern Virginia. When Sheila was not working, she spent time taking care of family and friends. Sheila is survived by her daughter Chernika Young, her grandchildren Kayla and Isaiah Young, sister Gwendolyn Wright (Stacy Turner), sister-in-law Velma Wright, aunt Viola Wright, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Carrie Wright, her brothers William Wright and Wadell Wright, sister Sheena Wright and many beloved family members. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 28th, 2022, at 10:00 AM at New Beginnings United Methodist Church followed by the service at 11:00 AM.
