Sandra Elizabeth Schaffner, 73, of Greensboro, died on September 7, 2016 at home. Born May 8, 1943 in Ridgely, to the late William Raymond and Sarah Elizabeth Holden, she lived most of her life on the Eastern Shore. In 1974, she married William C. Schaffner. She was preceded in death by her son Mickey Charles Creasy and a brother, David L. Holden. Mrs. Schaffner is survived by two daughters, Michele Creasy Wieber of Greensboro, Melody (Greg) Mackert of Milford, DE; two sons, William Charles Schaffner, II of Greensboro and Stephen H. Schaffner of Greensboro; two sisters, Bertha Mae Longfellow of Whitelysburg, Nancy Faye Culberson of Siler City, NC; four brothers, William (Carolee) Holden of Goldsboro, Harry W. (Sandy) Holden of Cambridge, Wayne (Mary) Holden of Whitelysburg and Allan (Sharon) Holden of Goldsboro. Sandy has six grandchildren, Sarah Wieber, Alyssa Mills, Kassidy Schaffner, Emily Schaffner, Carley Mackert and Ty Mackert. They were the joy of her life. Sandy graduated from North Caroline High School. She was employed as Assistant Office Manager for American Finance, Schaffner Printing and most recently at Fleetwood, Kinnamon, and Cross as a bookkeeper prior to her retirement. Though a native of the Eastern Shore she liked the many road trips she made with her husband, keeping journals of their travels. She enjoyed horseback riding when she was younger, loved animals and working in the yard. Sandy was always up for a trip to the beach and she loved the week she spent each year at Bethany. Sandy, like her father, loved to dance, especially the jitterbug.
