James Earl Spicher

James (Jim) Earl Spicher, Greensboro, Maryland, was born August 30, 1939 on his parents farm in Greensboro, Son of Preston Alan and Margaret Louise Seeders Spicher. Jim was a 1957 graduate of Greensboro High School, a 1959 Graduate of Goldey Beacom School of Business, and a completed numerous banking courses thru American Institute of Banking. Jim was a lifelong member of the Greensboro Baptist Church where he had served as a Sunday School Teacher, a Trustee and a Deacon and for many years had typed the bulletin. After graduating from Golden Beacom Jim served in the United States Army from March 1959 thru March 1963. He was stationed in Georgia, Germany and California. Jim worked for Farmers Bank of State of Delaware in Dover from 1963 to 1970. He was hired in January 1971 with the Peoples Bank of Maryland and was manager of the Marydel Branch when it was opened and worked there 12 years. And later worked at the Denton Office of the Peoples Bank where he was appointed as a Vice-President. He hiked the entire Appalachian Trail (Maine to Georgia) in seven different hikes, one-month hikes between 1988 thru 1997. Jim loved to garden and enjoyed sharing vegetables and flowers with many. He was known for his manually typed post cards that he sent to many as a thank you or just a note of encouragement. One of Jim’s favorite interest was history and he loved to share about the Civil War and American Presidents. Presdeceased by his parents, a sister Nelda Jean and his brother Alan Douglas Spicher. Jim is survived by the love of his life, wife Barbara Feyl Spicher, two daughters, Christine Spicher (Kevin) Blades of Berlin and Cheryl Spicher Taylor of Hurlock and one sister Margaret Ann Spicher Marine of Preston and grandchildren, Kara Semans, Meredith (Quinn) Griffith, Caitlyn Taylor, Dalton Blades, Ava Taylor and great children, Hayden Semans , Jaxson New , Rory Griffith. A visitation will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 11-12:00pm, service to begin at 12:00pm at Greensboro Baptist Church located at 401 W. Sunset Avenue, Greensboro, Maryland, 21639.
