George Ancel Foy

George Ancel Foy of Greensboro, passed away on November 23, 2016 at Chesapeake Woods, he was 75 years old. He was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on January 29, 1941 and was the son of Charles Cecil Foy, Sr. and Geraldine Barbara (Adams) Foy. George spent most of his life in the Greensboro-Denton area and attended the Denton High School. He was a hardworking man who never liked to be idle and always tried to stay busy. George and his father worked together for many years at the Caroline Soil Conservation, where he drove a dragline crane creating ditches. He then worked for Geradi Brothers in Denton working with antennas before working at Benton Garage. Whenever he could he helped out at the family business Foy’s Salvage and Sons, assisted his sister Diane in caring for her horse and was always willing to help people around town. His real passion in life was bowling and he became quite accomplished over his forty years of playing winning 102 bowling patches, several trophies and a ring that he proudly wore. George played alongside the professionals as easily as the armatures. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son William Curtis Foy, two brothers Samuel Joseph Foy and Charles Cecil Foy, Jr. as well as a sister Eva Diane Hoover. George is survived by two daughters Debbie Davis (PJ) and Kay Price (Marvin) both of Secretary, one adopted son Elvis Foy, three grandchildren, Justin Price (Jen) of East New Market, Megan Foster (Russell) of Cordova, Kim Foy (Devon) of Preston, three great grandchildren, Jacob Price, Blake Foster and Savanna Stansberry, one brother Bill Foy (Joanne) of Greensboro as well as several nephews and a niece. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 28th at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home in Greensboro at 1pm with a visitation from 11:30 to 1pm. Burial will follow at the Greensboro Cemetery.
