Charles (Sug) Linwood Jarrell, Jr., 93, of Greensboro, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018. Born May 11, 1924, he was the son of the late Charles and Anna Jarrell. He is preceded in death by his son Douglas Jarrell, daughter Betsy Anne, grandson Jeffrey Bishop, three sisters, Virginia Yatchum, Phoebe Morris and Anne Pritchett, one brother Frederick Jarrell. Sug attended Ridgely and Greensboro schools. In his early days he worked on the family farm before joining the US Army to serve his country in World War II becoming a staff sergeant until he was honorably discharged in 1946. Sug then worked at Pet Milk in Greensboro, the Latex Company in Dover, eventually retiring from State Roads in Denton in 1986. Sug was a lifetime member of the Greensboro Volunteer Fire Company. Sug is survived by his wife of 70 years Jane Walls Jarrell, the woman he loved dearly and waited on hand and foot. He lived for her, from going to Dover three times a week or going into town every day to get her a diet fountain soda. He enjoyed going to Florida on vacation as well as playing and watching sports. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Barbara Bishop (Buddy), grandchildren Jessica Walls (Bobby), Jason Bishop (Angel), Sharlee Bishop, Kevin Bishop (Paula), Rick Bishop (Lori), great grandchildren, Shelbie Bishop, Austin Walls, Brea Bishop, Carson Bishop, Trey Bishop and Lilly Bishop, niece Norma (Rex) Squier and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home in Greensboro on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM with a visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made in Mr. Jarrell's name to St. Pauls United Methodist Church at P.O.
