Betty Lou Chandler, 75, of Goldsboro, MD passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2016. She was born September 13, 1940 in Wise County, VA to the late Ernest and Viola Matthews Brickey. Betty worked as a Nursing Home Manager for Community Care Homes until her retirement. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Thomas B. Chandler; siblings Dennis Brickey, Donna Brickey, Hershel Brickey and Lucky Brickey. She is survived by her sons, James Chandler & wife Ellina of Henderson, MD, Mark Chandler & wife Christina of Denton, MD and Thomas & wife Lisa Chandler of Greensboro; six siblings, Callis Brickey, Lindsey Brickey, Rhonda Stanley, Violet Brickey, Tina Brickey & Sterling Brickey; Seven grandchildren, James Chandler, Jr., Ashley Chandler, Morgan Chandler, Mia Chandler, Hannah Chandler, Austin Chandler & Caroline Chandler and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 5th, 2016 at 3 pm in the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro. Visitation will be held 2 pm to 3 pm. Burial will follow the service in the Greensboro Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
