Bobby Jean Thomas

Bobby Jean Thomas is the youngest of seven children to the late James Olly Thomas and Louise Tiller-Thomas. He was born on Saturday, February 24, 1945 in Ridgely, MD. He went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin Maryland. Bobby received his formal education in the Caroline County School District graduating from Lockerman High School’s “class of 1965”. He served in the United States Army and received a honorable discharge as a sergeant. Bobby retired in 2007 from the Queen Anne’s County Sanitation Department.. Bobby enjoyed reading his bible and singing gospel music. His other hobbies included fishing, watching westerns and wrestling. He also enjoyed tinkering around the house. He loved to be outdoors. He would always say “Sonjia this is yours (inside the house) and this is mine (outside the house) don’t tell me what to do out here.” Bobby has always been the “Rock” of the Thomas family. A role model for all who came in contact with him. He was a husband, father, brother, and uncle, but most of all a spiritual leader. He would always leave you with a scripture and a word from God to take with you when you left. Bobby’s passion in life was promoting Jesus Christ whether in deeds, visiting the sick or just sitting around talking about the goodness of the Lord. All who came in his path will sit back and remember his generosities, kindness, courage and his strength. Bobby will be surely missed by all. Bobby leaves to cherish his memories a devoted and loving wife Sonjia Thomas; sons Robert Thomas (Katrina) of Denton, MD, Reginald Taylor of Coatesville, PA, David Taylor (Michelle) of Bel Air, MD; an adopted son Victor-Johnson (Johnny O) of Church Hill, MD, Daughters Lisa Thomas of Goldsboro, MD, Rhonda Taylor of Trenton, NJ, Zia Taylor-Khan (Muslim) of Auburndale, FL and an adopted daughter Pamela Smith of Easton, MD. Twenty-one grandchildren and five great grandchildren Also cherishing his memory is a loving sister Odella Thomas of Starr, MD, a host of caring nieces and nephews, other family members and friends. Special thanks to niece Beverly Baynard-King, friends: Metter Floyd, Patsy Pearson, Sandra (Dee) Washington and the Greater New Hope Church and Ministries Church family for all of their love and support.
